Primary research is often conducted by interviews, observation and surveys. Exploring other methods for the same, this paper talks about how theatre and movement sessions can be used to conduct primary research and understand the emotions and experiences of a user. Allowing people to express their experiences through movement, expressions and actions is a way to understand their opinions, mental model, fears and expectations from a product, service or environment. Including different age groups and people from various communities will allow researchers to gain insights about the difference in perceptions of the people through the difference in actions or expressions. This paper talks in depth about the workshop model that allows participants to describe their experiences through movement and theatre.

Book review of ‘A Summary of Air’

Air is a data driven, evidence based analysis of the air pollution crisis in India. It looks at the social, political and economic factors that influence the quality of air in our country. Air not only looks at it from a urban perspective which we hear most about, but also explores the impact of poor air quality on our rural population.
