Pratiti Sarkar is a Doctoral Research Scholar at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay.

Her research focuses on designing an Augmented Reality based learning environment for middle-school students. This technology-based learning environment is being developed to enhance the visuospatial thinking skills while learning abstract Geometry concepts in classrooms.

She will present on-going research. Emphasis will lie on design decisions taken for creating our Augmented Reality based Learning Environment (ARLE). In addition to that, the collaborative approaches of students in solving problems in our ARLE will be discussed.

Computational design

Henry is a maker, an architect, a designer, and a cheesemonger :P. Professionally, he is the head of Fabrication Futures group in Godrej Design Labs. He loves craft and computation, and generally, he loves to make sense of things.

Computational design can generate interesting graphics. But, is it all it can do? Through this talk, we will explore what kind of computation goes behind computation design, current applications of computational design, and how does computational design make sense for Indian context.

This talk will be followed by a workshop.

Gyan Lakhwani is a student of Interaction Design at IDC School of Design

Infotopia discusses how many minds come together to create knowledge in today’s hyper-connected world, and how people can assimilate aggregated information without succumbing to the dangers of herd mentality. It also talks about some of these techniques, when and why they work well, and when they don’t.
