Cinévoqué: Development of a Passively Responsive Framework for Seamless Evolution of Experiences in Immersive Live-Action Movies
Amarnath Murugan

The grammar of storytelling in Cinematic Virtual Reality (CVR) is still evolving and is not as established as that of traditional movies due to its immersive nature. Viewer’s with the ability to choose their own Point of View (POV) may miss out important events in the movie by focusing elsewhere. Our framework, Cinévoqué, alters the narrative passively to keep it consistent with the events the viewer has gazed on. The talk covers how the framework utilizes narrative and real-time data to seamlessly transition from one storyline to another and how it makes live-action VR movies more responsive through the addition of dynamic audiovisual elements.

Homo Ludens – Study of Play-Element in Culture What came first?–culture? Or play?
Malay Dhamelia

Prof. Johan Huizinga in his thick and serious cultural account of play attempts to understand the nature of play historically, not scientifically. Yet, he formally lays down the characteristics of play. He explores how irrationality is manifested to play and play is manifested to various human creations like wars, knowledge, art, music, poetry, and so forth. The book attempts to integrate the concept of play into that of culture. It extracts components and features of play by associating play with different human facets like imagination, biases, needs. The discussion following the session shall make an attempt to look at ‘ludic interactions’ from these lens.
